The story unfolds

Mother: How's your result?
Son: I managed to get 80%, mom.
Mother: I told you many times to study hard. Now what are you going to do with those marks? You won't get admission in any good colleges.
Son: Mom, I know what's in future for me? And I think I'm finding the glimpse of the future very intimidating.....

The mother didn't say anything more but knew inside her heart that the long standing prediction of her son might still come out to be the truth. But still she doesn't want her son to go into the untrodden path. She knows there's still a chance that the prediction might just remain an untrue prophecy. But her motherly thought never let her those words of the holy man and his forecast some 20 years ago.......

Days went by and her son went to search for Glory in the land of Hope and thus starting the long journey to self-discovery and the realisation of the truth. Little did she know that the very education they are willing to provide to their son, will one day take away their son from them. Little did they anticapate the events which is going to turn along the words of the Holy man.

Fours years of professional studies have made the son a totally radical and logical person who won't accept anything just by face value but has begun to ask questions which can dampen the spirit of many a scholar. During the four years that went by, untrue to the words of the Holy man, their son began socialising very often and slowly the fear of the mother was suppressed. She was always tormented by those words of the Holy man. She knew that no matter how hard her son tried, he won't be able to carry out the tasks assigned by birth. The mother now knew she need not worry anymore.

With time, the son started earning but never came back home to his parents. He was at last independent and free to take the world by his hands but somehow something seems to be binding him back. In this time of loneliness and independence, he started feeling the pressure of being bounded by relations. Though his thought went back to his parents, he never felt emotionally or spiritually connected to his parents or his brother or his sister. So he kept earning much wealth than he actually needed. Deep down inside his heart, he feels every relation will die some day or the other. There was no unhappiness in him. The realization freed him from the untempered bond of love for his near and dear one.

This went on for years and his life had become the story of one of the greatest money maker in the society but still he felt something was still missing. Somewhere down the line he had missed some experience which makes him think every night. The question why he he feels like he's being called by someone. Here he is, after 40 years on earth, one of the wealthiest man alive and still neck deep in all vices of the world. But every night, he feels someone's calling him, someone needs him.

On a july night, watching rainfall on the leaves of the tree in front of his windows, a wind gushes pass his shoulders and reminded him of the letters from his mother when she was on her dying bed. She had not told him anything about the fear she had about his future but soon after her death, she knew the letters will narrate the truth and then God only know where the truth will lead him. Standing near the window, as the rain drops hit his face slowly, a feeling of loneliness surge through him and he felt like crying but the feeling bewildered him. Why all of a sudden, he wants to cry. For whom he wants to cry, he doesn't know, why he can't explain.
As he turned back to his rooms, he sees the letters from his mother. After a long time, he was finding time to read those letters. As he started reading the letters, he was startled at the revelation. But he was not ready to accept the truth and leave everything behind. Was all that he had built up till now just to be left behind for unprofitable tasks in life? He didn't accept anything in the letters except that her mother had given those letters to him at her dying bed.
Some day he will decide what decision to take but not tonight. But deep down inside, the voice which was guiding all these days seems to tell him to leave everything behind. He was now feeling more lonelier than ever before and he didn't know whom to turn for this decision. He knows that his friends will ridicule him for the way he was thinking because of some letters.
He continued living as usual but the words in the letters kept haunting him. He wanted peace of mind and a place of isolation to think in peace and to decide what to do.

Learning something on ASP.NET AJAX

Recently i attended a session on ASP.NET AJAX. ASP.NET AJAX adds to the power of ASP.NET. Though ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 was available as a separate add-on for ASP.NET 2.0, it has been integrated into ASP.NET in the release of ASP.NET 3.5.

AJAX is a very impressive approach for using a number of existing technologies together. It combines the power of HTML/XHTML, CSS, Javascript, DOM, XML, XSLT and XMLHttpRequest object. This helps in delivering web pages with sophisticated, responsive user interfaces and more efficient without reloading the entire browser page. This also helps makes the application and more responsive to user actions.

Regarding the ASP.NET AJAX session, this was really helpful session. I got to learn about the various controls provided by ASP.NET AJAX. Microsoft developers has put in commendable effort to provide with all the controls which can be used very easily. The usual Visual Studio feature "Drag and Drop" still holds for this new AJAX extension also. Moreover there is very little coding to be done. So looking forward to learning it in more details. I'll put in more details about the Ajax controls in the next post.

3 engineers travel on a desert road in a good old '76 VW Beetle. One is a mechanical engineer, the second one is an electric engineer and the last one is a computer engineer.

The VW Beetle starts making weird engine noises and stops. Then, the mechanical engineer goes back, looks at it for a couple hours and gives his veredict:

"This thing needs a complete overhaul of all friction components, plus the warpage limits of the engine heads are beyond specifications..."

The electrical engineer takes over and starts staring at the engine...after three hours he gives out his veredict:

"This thing isn't working because the voltage present on the battery is not enough, and the electromagnetic effect of the generator is too low for the car to run correctly..."

The computer engineer stares at the engine bay for 6 hours, looking under the mass of cables, hoses, until he stands up and tells his companions:
"We are doomed. I can't find the reset button on this thing!!!"
